The international final of the eBay Circular Fashion Fund has taken place. Just recently, the winner of the German edition was chosen: MOOT (Made Out of Trash), a start-up from Berlin that supports brands with a plugin to seamlessly integrate scalable upcycling solutions into their processes. The four national winners from the USA, the UK, Germany and Australia have now come together in London so that the overall winner of the initiative could be selected and honored as “Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year”. The winners were selected by an interdisciplinary jury of experts from the fields of fashion, science and sustainability. The choice fell on Refiberd from the USA, which will receive an investment of 300,000 US dollars. It is based on the idea of highly developed AI systems that allow the material composition of a wide range of fabrics to be analyzed in detail. This enables precise sorting and recycling. By awarding this prize, eBay is continuing its commitment to supporting start-ups in the expansion of circular solutions in the fashion world. |
