Startup-Champs Goes GreenTech

Startup-Champ goes GreenTech is a virtual pitch competition in which young GreenTech companies from all over Germany can apply. The start-up hotspots Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich have joined forces for this purpose. With the joint event format, the four cities want to offer founders a stage for their innovation and inspire a broad audience for start-ups. This year, the importance of GreenTech is also to be made comprehensible and visible in order to find innovative solutions for a digital, sustainable and environmentally friendly future, especially in times of climate change and energy transition.

This year's jury includes Lara Obst, founder and Chief Climate Officer of THE CLIMATE CHOICE, Boris Lesjean, Head of Innovation at Veolia Germany, Tobias Seikel from the impact investment company Planet A Ventures, business angel and mentor Tim Schumacher, as well as Laurin Hahn, CEO of Sono Motors, which plans to launch the Sion solar electric car on the market in the next few years.

There are attractive regional and national prizes to be won, such as a video package from Mediengruppe RTL, a wildcard for the next media:net Investors' Dinner, coworking at WeWork and Design Offices, an exclusive PR workshop from PIABO PR and tickets to the GREENTECH FESTIVAL and hub.berlin by Bitkom.

How does the pitch competition work?
Until 5 September 2021, GreenTech start-ups from the Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich metropolitan areas have the opportunity to upload a maximum 90-second pitch video. The prerequisite is that they meet the application criteria.

From 6 to 12 September 2021, viewers will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourites. Those who can inspire many people with their business idea will move up in the ranking.

The three best teams per city will reach the final and pitch to our jury of experts on 16 September at 11 a.m. in the live stream. At the end, we will not only award a regional winner for each of the four cities, but also a national start-up champion!
