SUMMARY:FORM/FUTURE
DESCRIPTION:Our world is undergoing profound change. In businesses, in work
flows, and in the way we live together. Organizational structures that func
tioned successfully for decades are being questioned. Values we once relied
on are being renegotiated.\n\nFor design, change is a daily task. Designer
s and design managers create value across all industries, driving innovatio
n and shaping the future across disciplines by building bridges between bra
nds, products, and people. In doing so, they play a key role in shaping new
business models, experiences, and the environments in which we live.\n\nTh
e unfinished, the iterative process, navigating uncertainty: this is the es
sence of design work. And it is precisely this expertise that is needed tod
ay. Methods that make complexity manageable. Processes that enable collabor
ation across disciplines and industries. Approaches that turn technological
change, including the rise of AI, into meaningful and usable innovation.\n
\nFORM / FUTURE 2026 is centered on the theme “Process & Principles.” In ti
mes of transformation, what endures is not ready-made answers, but robust p
rocesses and clear values. FORM / FUTURE puts this expertise into practice,
not as a conference about design, but as a place where businesses, institu
tions, and designers come together to discover new paths forward.\n\nOn 10
September 2026, the international design conference FORM / FUTURE will expl
ore how design can drive systemic change in business, society, and politics
under the theme “Process & Principles.”\n\nFORM / FUTURE is designed for e
veryone engaged in transformation: businesses and leaders rethinking struct
ures, designers seeking to create strategic impact, institutions looking fo
r new forms of collaboration, and anyone who wants to shape change rather t
han simply manage it. Through keynotes, panels, master classes, and pop-up
experiences, FORM / FUTURE creates a space for exchange and a program focus
ed on practical solutions, new processes, and actionable tools.\n\nTempelho
f Airport is the largest historic landmark building in Europe. Never truly
finished and constantly evolving, it is a place of debate that embodies and
lives the contradictions and complexities of a city every day. There could
hardly be a more fitting venue for a conference dedicated to processes and
principles.\n\nIn 2026, Berlin celebrates 20 years as a UNESCO City of Des
ign, becoming the first city in Europe to receive this designation. FORM /
FUTURE is part of this anniversary, showcasing what an expanded understandi
ng of design can contribute to business, society, and public policy.\n\nInt
erested? Explore the programme here.\n\nFree tickets are available here.\n\
nFORM / FUTURE is an initiative presented as part of Berlin’s designation a
s a UNESCO City of Design. Funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Econo
mics, Energy and Public Enterprises, implemented by Berlin Partner, and cur
 ated by 3STN.
